I was hired to create an icon set using my unique illustration style to represent the various degrees and programs offered by the Colorado Mesa University Art & Design Department. Each program was given at least one icon, with some receiving multiple. These icons were designed for use in both web and print applications.
Programs/mediums used: Dip Pen, Illustrator.
Each icon was designed to represent a key concept or item related to its degree, whether that was a classroom tool, the idea of layers in animation, or an iconic photograph. To offer flexibility, several options were created for each degree, allowing professors the freedom to choose the icon that best fit their needs. All the icons started as hand-drawn sketches with a dip pen and ink, which were then vectored and refined into the final versions you see today.
The early sketches show rough ideas for icons in different fields. Some were chosen for further refinement to make sure the final designs fit the project’s needs.
